About

About the Music Program

West Ryde Public School offers a number of musical opportunities for our students. Many of these programs are administered by a Sub-Committee of the West Ryde Public School P&C. The Music Sub-Committee organises the payment of fees for Orchestra, Band and Junior Strings and the hire of instruments. The Music Sub-Committee does not collect money for beginner or private instrument lessons at the school. Your child's music teacher will contact you directly about paying them for lessons.

The Music Sub-Committee meets once per term. We are always looking for new members so if you are interested in joining, please contact us. Even if you are not on the Music Sub-Committee there are many ways parents and carers can help with out music program:

  • Setting up and packing up music stands and equipment at rehearsals
  • Helping with fund-raising
  • Helping supervise children at performances
