Violin & Viola Lessons

Music Inspirations Studio provides tutors in violin and viola at West Ryde Public School, under the guidance of our Orchestra Conductor, Sarah Wijngaarden. Students usually start in a Beginner Group, then can progress to private lessons or lessons in pairs. Once students are having lessons they also have the option of joining our Junior Strings Group and from there the Senior Orchestra.

You don't have to buy an instrument to get started. You can hire from our wide range of instruments (find out more information here).

For further information about lessons you can download an information sheet (here).

Beginner Group Violin Lessons

Small group lessons are offered 1-2 times a year (usually Term 2 and 3). The lessons run for 8 weeks. Group lessons are a great way to start as they provide an introduction to learning the violin and to musical concepts. After the 8 week session, students can decide whether they wish to continue and will have the option of going on to individual or pairs lessons.

Private lessons

Individual or lessons in pairs are held during the school day (20 minute or 30 minute lessons are offered). Lessons are either with Sarah or one of the other violin tutors who visit the school. You will be told which day your child will have their lesson, and it is important to make sure they are prepared on that day with their instrument and music.
