Orchestra

The West Ryde Public School orchestra is an opportunity for children to learn to play in a group and develop musical skills while having fun!

Students have the opportunity to perform a variety of music in a number of different settings at school and in the local community. Each year senior students have the opportunity to perform at the Sydney Opera House as part of the NSW Combined Primary Schools Festival of Instrumental Music.

West Ryde Public School orchestra is an inclusive group suitable for children in years 3-6 who are already learning an instrument and are having regular lessons. Currently in orchestra we have violins, violas, cellos, keyboards, flutes, and percussion.

Rehearsals

Orchestra rehearses once a week at 8:00 am on Monday mornings in the school hall.
Rehearsal time is valuable! To get the most out of rehearsals, children are asked to arrive at 7:45 to be tune up and ready to start at 8:00. Students are to listen to and follow the direction of the orchestra leader.

Fees for orchestra are charged per term. If you are interested in joining orchestra please contact us.
